Nanotechnology developer SVTC Technologies LLC plans to scale back its Austin operations and permanently lay off 105 local workers, according to a document filed with the Texas Workforce Commission.
San Jose, Calif.-based SVTC said in the letter that it would cut back its workforce “due to a full or partial closing of its facility at Austin,” which is located at 2706 Montopolis Drive.
The job cuts are expected to take place between Nov. 17 and Dec. 1, officials said in the letter. Affected employees have already received notice. Calls to SVTC’s Austin office regarding the total number of local workers it employs have not been returned.
